Events Manager
Position Summary:
The Event Coordinator position is responsible for organizing and executing all aspects of professional conferences, events and meetings. The priority components of this position are to ensure all events run smoothly and meet our client expectations; to solicit and procure sponsorships to support events; to oversee events onsite; to work with and manage client planning aspects; and coordinate post event evaluations and assessments to assist in future event preparations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead event planner for several KDA clients.
- Attend and help lead client event planning committee meetings and other development meetings.
- Provide clients with meeting ideas, agendas, schedules, deadlines, timelines, etc.
- Work with and assist KDA communications team on marketing and promotions of events and sponsorships.
- Create and maintain events areas on client websites.
- Coordinate online registrations and sponsorships.
- Coordinate speakers, confirmations, schedules, etc.
- Direct and communicate with hotels and event venues for event preparations, onsite execution and post event invoicing.
- Research potential client locations.
- Work with clients and executive directors to execute events to meet budget expectations.
- Help review and file continuing education documents as needed

Professional Qualifications:
- Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) preferred, but not required.
- Professional event planning experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written forms and telephone etiquette skills.
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and personal presentation.
- Willingness to assist and work with others.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, and/or DocuSign is a plus.
KDA office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a full-time, in-person salaried position with benefits. Travel and work on weekends occasionally is required. Interested candidates should email derek@kdafirm.com
